Oregon Girls in Mexico

It's hard to believe we've been in Mexico for a month.

I have about twenty posts formulating in my head and through my photos about what we've been up to over the last few weeks.  

We experienced Carnaval and the many events leading up to it, spent four days in the Yucatan with my mom who visited from Oregon, and got out to see some new places here on the island.  

At the end of January we were also lucky enough to have my best friend from college visit with her husband.  They stayed with us for a week and it was just like when we were roomies all throughout college--this time with husbands thrown in.
 

 

During the same week that Chris and Dana were here, another college friend of ours and her boyfriend happened to be vacationing in Cancun.  They came to the island for a night and we got the chance to celebrate their brand new engagement!  It could not have been a more beautiful day at the beach with our family and friends.

That evening we caught a show at the city square to elect the king and queen of Carnaval.

 

 And we spent some time the next morning wandering the city before our friends headed back to Cancun.
