Still Life With Rice

I recently finished a wonderful book.

Still Life With Rice is the story of a Korean woman retold (in the first person) by her first generation Korean-American granddaughter.  It is an extraordinarily interesting account of the grandmother’s challenging life in Korea.  Beginning pre-war and wrapping up in the early 1990s, the narrative sheds light on the culture and history of the nation we currently call home.  If you’re looking for a good read or are at all interested in Korean history, this is a book I’d highly recommend.

  1. Hi guys,

My fiance and I read your blog everyday. We are getting married in November and want to move to Busan in January to teach english. Is there anyway we could ask you a few questions?
