It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Christmas is definitely in the air.  Each major shopping mall in Busan is decked out in its holiday finest.

Smaller stores have seasonal Santa displays and the streets of Busan’s main outdoor market and shopping area are now lined with lights, plants, trees, and general festiveness.  On a visit last weekend we walked through the lit up street and began to feel the Christmas spirit, even on the other side of the world.

On our walk we were reminded that only a few shopping days remain to pick up matching couple-wear for you and your special someone.

And I found this adorably girly bike.

We even saw snow!

Even with all the decorations, some Christmas necessities are lacking here.  My search for candy canes this week was a fail.  Luckily I still managed to make some Christmassy chocolate peppermint bark, almond bark, and chocolate cookies to take to work yesterday.

Since Ryan and I are now on a short vacation (yay!) until Monday, we’re off to Boseong today, a green tea farm that is also decked out in lights for the holiday.  We’ll return for a cozy weekend together with Christmas movies, yummy food, and lots of wine.

Oh, and I almost forgot--I met Santa at school yesterday! :)
